Marian S. Krauskopf

Marian is currently the Director of the Cancer Prevention and Control Program in New York City's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. This program focuses on reducing incidence and mortality of cancer among New Yorkers, with a particular interest in increasing screening in colorectal, breast and cervical cancer and developing programs and policies that address disparities in both screening and treatment. She joined the program in June, 2006. Her previous assignments have included a focus on management and leadership in the nonprofit and public sector. She was a founder of the Research Center for Leadership in Action at the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, NYU, and developed and implemented the Ford Foundation's national leadership program, Leadership for a Changing World. Her previous experiences in New York City government was as Deputy City Personnel Director, in the then Department of Personnel, and in the Human Resources Administration.
She is on the Steering Committee of the New York State Cancer Consortium and Co-Chair of the Policy Committee of the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable.
She has a MS from Columbia University in Social Work, and a Certificate in Family Therapy from the Ackerman Institute for the Family.
